Entering any room in your house with a pot of paint and a brush can completely improve and transform it, and the kitchen is not going to be less. There are surfaces and objects in our kitchen that we are sure we can paint, but do you have all the possibilities in mind?
We tell you a few things that you can transform with paint in your kitchen, some more obvious than others, but all interesting!
Paint the walls of your kitchen
Painting your kitchen wall when it is not fully tiled is as simple as painting the rest of your house. You will need washable and resistant paint, since they are areas with more wear than, for example, a bedroom, but it is not very difficult. To achieve an original effect, they have painted the door in the same tone in the following image, and it looks great, right?
Paint the tiles
Kitchen tiles can be painted plain (very useful for covering up hideous colors and patterns) or with a stencil to create painted patterns or borders on plain tiles. Very good results are obtained with the right paint, and it is an economical alternative to tiling. And much easier!
Paint the fridge
You can paint the refrigerator, the washing machine, the dishwasher… Your appliances can also be renewed with the right paint. It is best to use spray paint for this task since we will achieve a cleaner finish with a thin layer. You can give them the same color as your kitchen cabinets to fully integrate them, even with matching handles! Or, if you like them white and have lost their luminosity when you bought them, you can give them a coat of specialized appliance white paint that will make them shine again.
Paint kitchen cabinet handles
The handles are delicate pieces to paint because they have a lot of use and can suffer more wear, but sometimes it is worth it. If they are damaged, to change them for others, you will have to match the holes, or you will have to putty and paint to cover the previous ones, so painting the kitchen handles can be a much easier solution. Always use quality paint suitable for the use you will give it, and if necessary, use a primer. The results will be much better!
Paint the kitchen cabinets
Of course, the idea is not new, but you can always twist it and turn it into something more original. We suggest you paint only the upper or lower cabinets, as in the following image. Or even paint some kitchen cabinet doors, interiors… Try finding your combination to give your kitchen paint a different touch.
Paint the countertop
The kitchen counter is another risky surface to paint, but not impossible. The counter top has a lot of use and friction, and it is subject to humidity… So we only recommend painting it in some cases, depending on the material it is made of. Wooden countertops can be varnished and treated without problems, always with products suitable for food use. As for the paint itself, we can use it on laminate countertops as a temporary solution or in kitchens that do not have much use. Painting can be the solution when we don’t have the budget to change the countertop, or the house is not ours (always with the owner’s permission!). Ask us about the right products!
Paint the garbage can
Whether created of plastic or metal, you can paint the garbage can and hide it if it is visible or highlight it! Please keep in senses that you may have to choose one paint or another depending on the material. A simple project that is worth trying.
