One of the most special moments of Christmas is, without a doubt, decorating the tree. There are so many ornaments and so pretty that it becomes one of the most endearing pre-party activities. The Christmas balls represent the adornment par excellence. And, the best thing is that you can customize them in multiple ways and even create them with the most diverse materials. In this way, you get a completely unique and very special tree. Take a look at these ten personalized Christmas bauble proposals.
Christmas balls with wool and buttons
Christmas balls made with polystyrene and wool
An essential material to make your own balls for the tree is polystyrene (or white cork). In craft stores and bazaars you will find a wide variety of polystyrene balls in different sizes. For this ornament you will need them, as well as colored wool. You just have to glue it (the heat glue gun is perfect for this craft) forming a spiral. Add a couple of pretty buttons and bows. Click a wire at the top to hang the ball from the tree and you’re done. Simpler, impossible.
Yarn balls

Something also very simple is to create the balls with the help of balloons, white glue and thread. Once the balloon has been inflated as round as possible, wrap it with the thread -previously dipped in the tail-. When it dries, pop the balloon and you will get a sphere made of hardened thread. Inside these balls you can insert garlands of led lights, so the decoration of the tree will be even more spectacular.
Transparent balls

If what you like is not so much creating ornaments from scratch, but decorating Christmas balls, in stores you can find different types of transparent balls that you can later decorate as you like. If you choose the plastic ones that open in the middle, you will have the possibility to decorate them with a wide variety of objects, from the most fun and original (colored sweets, popcorn, inflated balloons) to the most traditional (artificial snow, Christmas figurines). I liked the idea of using dried leaves and flowers, because they give a very romantic air to the decoration of the tree.
Decorate Christmas balls with buttons

We return to the polystyrene balls to decorate them this time with buttons of different sizes and colors. To fix them, use large white head pins, which will serve at the same time as decoration.
Snowmen
Another idea to get personalized Christmas balls is to use foam rubber, permanent marker and pieces of fabric to create figures. Take some white balls that will be the face of a snowman. With pieces of black eva rubber, make the eyes and with another orange piece, the nose. Draw the mouth and other funny details. With the fabric (better if it is a plush type), make the doll’s hat and glue it to the top of the ball. Children will love these snowmen!
A very metallic ball…
Christmas ball with thumbtacks
With some silver thumbtacks and a polystyrene ball, you can easily get an ornament full of metallic glitters. So, you know, thumbtacks!
And another one full of glamor
Sequin ball
Colored sequins and pins are all you need to get a totally glamorous Christmas ball. Prick with a sequin by sequin pin all the way around a polystyrene ball. You can put as many sequins as you want.
Personalized Christmas balls with napkins

Almost any material can be used to decorate the balls of the tree. Napkins with Christmas motifs are ideal to give an original touch to those balls that you have at home and that you no longer like so much. Cut out the pictures from the napkin and glue them to the ball to form the design you prefer.
How to make Christmas balls
The burlap or sack cloth gives a lot of play in decoration. A polystyrene ball lined with this type of fabric will give your tree a natural touch.
What do you think? Are you going to put any of these Christmas balls on your tree this year?
