The scent of spring has already taken over the air! This Tuesday, September 22, the season begins in Brazil. Synonymous with colors, aromas, and joy, the climate is an actual invitation to renew the decoration of the house. Just as fashion turns to spring symbols, the house is also open for the season, and along with the flowers, ideas are born to renew the home’s energy.
In complement to bringing a wide variety of flowers that beautify any decor, the season also arrives with the trends of cheerful, vibrant, and full of life colors. Nothing is better than putting winter items in the closet and preparing the house for the new season. It doesn’t take much to give the rooms a makeover to leave the environment with a more flowery and cheerful air.
“People are increasingly looking for nature and the so-called ‘refuge environments,’ as opposed to the busy and stressful routine. And green portrays this feeling of well-being, of contact with the natural environment, very well. Other colors that come with everything are Ultra Violet (deep violet), appointed as the trend color 2022, blue, orange and brown”, said Fábio.
In this pandemic year, the station promises to be even more unique. That’s what architect Tatiana Pradal believes. “In spring, we feel a change in the air, the sun shines differently, the flowers are born, and that brings a good feeling. And this year, this feeling will be even greater because of this pandemic period. Bringing nature indoors is more intensified. Certainly, this spring will be even more valued.”
1- FLOWERS
When we assume spring, the first thing that comes to mind is flowers. There’s no denying it. She is the great symbol of the season. Whether on the corner table, coffee table, dining table, bedroom, or bathroom, flowers are welcome. The ideas range from more robust arrangements, potted plants, a vertical garden, baskets hanging on the wall, and even shelves with cachepots of different sizes, colors, and formats.
“And for those who don’t have time to take care of flowers, you can use permanent plants. Today, we find authentic plants on the market, which give the same feeling of well-being as a real plant”.
2- NATURE
But whoever thinks that the season is all about flowers is wrong. Spring is one of the seasons that most represents nature. This is the ideal time to open the doors of our home to natural materials. Explore elements such as wood, handcrafted ceramics, stones, tree gravel, straws, rattan… All this is welcome to the environment.
3- COLORS
It’s time to color the house! Along with the flowers, the season is also marked by colors. Choosing a wall to receive a new color is a good choice. “Wall paintings are super hot. They are simple, practical, and even economical. The earthy tones, for example, bring a feeling of coziness”, said the architect.
Another trend that Tatiana highlighted is artistic paintings, which are true works of art expressed on the wall.
The tip is to punctuate the colors in the details, such as pillows, adornments, and canvases for those who are not so daring.
4- SCENTS
In addition to the look of flowers and colors, and the texture of natural materials, this is the time to explore all the senses, including smell. Whether through the natural perfume that flowers provide us or even in essences. Take the opportunity to spread the aroma around the house!
5- LET THE LIGHT IN
Since the sun shines brightest in spring, why not take advantage of the mild temperatures to open the windows and let the seasonal freshness in? This is a way to renew the air in the environment and reduce energy consumption. The environment thanks you!
6- LIVING ROOM AND BEDROOM TIPS
“For long-term environments, such as the living room and bedrooms, I usually indicate more relaxing colors, in the gray and brown scale, or pink tones, which are more pleasant. However, depending on the client’s personality, I usually take advantage of his boldness to choose more striking colors, without losing warmth, such as the deepest green and blue.”
7- TIP FOR THE KITCHEN
“For the kitchen, warmer colors are ideal, such as yellow and orange, as well as deeper green and blue.”
8- TIP FOR THE TOILET/BATHROOM
“In the washrooms, as well as in the entrance hall, environments with little permanence or passing through, it is valid to be bold with colors. Bet on intense violet, yellow or orange full of personality.”
9- GOURMET BALCONY
“I think it’s worth playing with the colors, always in harmony with the green of the plants, ensuring warmth with personality.”
10- COLORS THAT DECORATE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
The architect highlighted that all these colors match the spring, but they can decorate the house all year round. “As Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone has said, ‘the world is opening up to the idea of using more color.’ With this, I believe that these choices are alien to fad. They are defined according to people’s habits, desires, and desires for a better quality of life. That’s why they are timeless colors”, said Fábio.
11- COLORED WALLS
Colored walls are a great choice to change the environment without much effort. The tip is to bet on the colors of the season. In spring/summer 2022, mustard and pink will rise.
12- BEACH CLIMATE
Indeed, the beach is not always close, but nothing like leaving your home with beachy air. Hammocks are great ways to decorate the house, make it cozier and make the environment more summer-like. Best of all is that you can place the accessory in the living room, balcony, bedroom…
13- VERTICAL GARDENS
Vertical gardens are great for green and sustainable decor. Best of all, it can be mounted in any space: kitchen, living room and balconies are the best places.
14- CARPET
A punctual decoration that does not require many changes is to change the rug’s color. The ones with colorful stripes promise to be the spring/summer 2022 sensation!
15- COLORED CUSHIONS
Another way to color the house without much effort is to use colorful pillows. It is worth mixing colors, prints, and textures create a multicolored environment.
“People are bringing out their personality, showing their identity. Thus, they opt for freedom of expression in more cheerful and colorful environments. Color is life!” Added the architect.
“The main tip is to train our eyes to see what is out there, in nature, and bring it into the house,” concluded Tatiana. And you, do you also enjoy the freshness of this colorful and joyful season?
