Did you know that you can cultivate simple habits to keep your house in order? Check out the list:
1. Keep clothes under control
Keep used clothing under control. I’m not talking about doing the laundry service, but that moment when you take off your clothes and leave them on a chair, leaning on a coat rack or even on the floor. When you leave clothes anywhere, there is a big tendency for it to turn into a big mess. Then take off your clothes, it can only have 2 destinations. The first option is laundry, so when you take your clothes off, identify the need for washing and put the items in the laundry basket. The second option is to save the part. you can hang it on a hanger so it can be sanitized, or to get some air before going back to the closet. I use the steammer to sanitize parts that don’t need to be washed each time, such as jackets, blazers and winter coats.
2. Avoid having an “Extra” of everything
I used to have extras on everything from shampoo to iron and bragged about being a safe person, the fact is, it just means having a house full of things you don’t need. Yes, you can buy some items before they run out, but stocking everything will not help you organize, it will take up space and make cleaning and maintenance difficult. Learn to live with less and live better!
3. Keep paperwork organized
If you have piles of papers lying around the house, then you’re really going to consider adopting this habit! It takes less effort to file papers immediately, rather than keeping papers scattered around the house. When bills arrive, keep them in a folder and once paid, file immediately. I used to set a date at the end of the month to file my paperwork, but I’ve found it faster to file right away.
4. Clean surfaces after each use
After cooking, brushing teeth, making a sandwich, putting on makeup, clean the surface immediately. Wiping a cloth soaked in your favorite cleaner or using moistened wipes is much faster than leaving it grimy and then wasting hours scrubbing surfaces. So adopt these habits to keep your home tidy by cleaning surfaces immediately after use. It only takes a few seconds to clean the area you just used and it will remain clean and ready to be used again. More importantly, if you let dirt build up over time, it’s nearly impossible to restore the surface to its original condition. My secret for cleaning surfaces such as granite is to use glass cleaner, as it leaves it clean, shiny and smudge-free.
5. The bed is for sleeping and not for storing
Do you have the habit of leaving “things” on your bed like clothes, bags and papers? And when you go to sleep is it necessary to take everything off? Did you know that clutter in your bedroom can interfere with your sleep? My bed is used for one purpose only, which does not include storing clothes or other items. If you need your bed to put your clothes in, you probably need to do some cleaning in your closet.
6. Have a reasonable amount of pillows and blankets
I love pillows on the bed, and I use it to make it more beautiful and inviting, I also use it to support my body when reading. But be careful with the amount of pillows or pillows you keep on top of the bed. If you have a lot of pillows or decorative pillows it gets a little difficult to manage and they often end up on the floor, if you have too many things on your bed this will probably happen. So keep a reasonable amount of pillows and blankets in your home. Throw away your old pillows and pillows that are full of dust mites. Do you have a lot of old blankets? Donate to an animal shelter. A bed with fewer items will certainly make it easier to make the bed every morning.
7. Make your bed everyday
This is one of the main habits of keeping the house in order, as nothing makes a room look more tidy and clean than a well-made bed.
8. Keep shoes clean and in order
Many families have the habit of leaving their shoes at the door, preventing the dirt from the street from entering the house, but the idea of seeing them scattered around the entrance to the house is frightening to me. Does your family have this habit? Install a closet or shoe rack at the entrance of the house in order to keep your shoes organized. The little secret to keeping shoes clean and away from germs and foot odor? I use lysoform.
9. Keep the sink clean at all times
Keeping the kitchen always clean is one of the habits to keep the house in order. With teenagers at home, it is often difficult to keep the sink clean. I notice that many families cultivate the habit of each member removing their plate from the table and washing it immediately, and that’s great. In my house, I try to leave the sink without dishes before going to bed, I have the habit of washing the dishes while I cook and this guarantees a clean kitchen at the end of every meal, my dishwasher it has the capacity to wash only 6 services, so dinner dishes go to the machine, with pots and dishes (when they fit), when larger dishes do not fit in the machine, they are quickly washed in the sink. For a clean and pleasant kitchen every morning, wash dishes at the end of the night in the dishwasher or in the sink. After using pots and pans, wash them immediately, dry and store. Your kitchen will always be clean for the next time you cook.
10. Put things back in place
If everyone decides to leave everything they wear out of place, no one will be able to find anything. By putting things back where you set them up, everyone will know where to find everything and your house will stay clean and tidy.
11. Vacuum and dust regularly
Vacuuming the house frequently is a way to keep it clean and free of dust mites. Vacuum your house regularly and avoid sweeping. When you sweep, the dirt goes up and down again. Whereas when you vacuum , dirt is pulled into the vacuum . Plus, your house will stay clean longer.
